In order to assess the performance of a hospital, annual reports of a general hospital from 1989 to 1993 were used for ratio analysis, and the results were compared with those of tertiary hospitals, general hospitals and all hospitals.
This study was performed mainly to evaluate the state of finance and utilization from October 1, 1993 to August 31, 1994.
@ES The findings of this study were as follows :
@EN 1.Stability was good in each indicator and year.
2. Among profitability indicators, operating profits were showed regular increase by year, but normal and net profits were negative.
3. Activity indicators seem better than those of control groups, but turn period of inventories was longer relatively.
4. Growth rate indicators were good generally, but the decrease of inpatient counts was noticeable.
5. Among utilization indicators, new outpatient visits, bed occupancy, bed turnover rounds, daily patient census per 100 beds were inferior than those of control groups.
